The journey towards innovation in Bihar started back in 2016 with the inception of Startup Bihar. This initiative has been on a relentless quest to nurture and cultivate a dynamic startup and innovation ecosystem in the region. However, the real acceleration came with the advent of the Bihar Startup Policy – 2022, a strategic framework that has brought inclusivity, cohesion, and amplified benefits to all stakeholders involved.
Taking the lead in this transformation is the Department of Industries, the pivotal entity spearheading the startup ecosystem in Bihar. The central vision is audacious yet promising: to position Bihar as the preferred destination for innovators, startups, and all stakeholders alike. This vision hinges on the harnessing of local talent, particularly the youth, to create a conducive startup ecosystem that propels inclusive growth across the state.

At the heart of this transformation lies the Bihar Innovation Challenge-2023 (BIC-2023), a platform meticulously designed to foster innovation and translate it into successful ventures. This unique challenge extends its arms to students, innovators, startups, and research scholars across the nation. Their common ground? Developing innovative solutions that harness cutting-edge technology across various domains.

From Abstract to Reality: The Path to Success
The journey of a BIC-2023 participant is an exhilarating one, a path paved with innovation, dedication, and collaboration.
Step 1: Application – A gateway to possibility: The quest begins by visiting the official website of Startup Bihar. With a click on “Apply Now,” the journey to innovation takes its first step.
Step 2: Crafting the Path – The art of preparation: Innovation takes form through the details. Aspirants fill the required fields and submit their abstract, a glimpse into their visionary world.
Step 3: Navigating the Selection – Rising above the rest: From a pool of inspired minds, 25 applicants from each category emerge as the shortlisted contenders.
Step 4: Building the Dream – Transforming vision into reality: The chosen few are given a month to craft their working prototype/model and fine-tune their business model.
Step 5: The Grand Finale – Where innovation takes center stage: In the vibrant city of Patna, finalists gather to exhibit their prototypes and pitch their business models to a panel of seasoned experts.
